Annie Smith

Annie Smith, MSW, LCSW, M.Ed, M.A is a Licensed Baptist Minister and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She holds an Associate of Science in Human Services from Housatonic Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Springfield College, a Master of Social Work from Springfield College, a Master of Science in Education from The University of Bridgeport, and a Master of Religious Studies from Hartford International University. She has worked in the field of Social Work for over 30 years with a diverse population in the area of Foster Care, Family Reunification, Adoption, Suicide Prevention Programs, and Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse issues. She is passionate about women's studies, diversity, religion, and interfaith dialogue. She is employed at Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield for 15 years. For 13 of those years, she worked as a Behavioral Health Care Manager in the Behavioral Health

Utilization Department, overseeing the treatment of clients with mental health or substance abuse disorders. Currently, she is a Behavioral Health Case Manager in the Suicide Prevention Program working with clients between the ages of 10- 64 years. Annie is an active participant in the IMA (Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Bridgeport and Vicinity). Her extra-curriculum activities consist of volunteering with Special Olympics and Walk-Out- Of Darkness. She has attended various events with the Spiritual Life Center from Prayer Groups, Retreats, and Companion Groups. Annie's
